What's happened this week?

18th August 2023

This week the Vets Section played a mixed bag of events:

• On Monday the Super Seniors played a league match at home to Langley Park

• On Tuesday we held the Dan Cameron Charity Jug competition followed by a Dinner & Dance in the evening with donations and collections in aid of the Vets Captain's Charity for Prostate Cancer

• On Thursday we played a Vets Friendly away at The Darenth

• Also on Thursday we played a Vets League match at home against Chislehurst

Details of, with links to each are below:

Super Seniors League match home to Langley Park - the Results and Team sheet can be found on the SS League Results 2023 page, and the current league table is on the SS League Fixtures 2023 page.

Dan Cameron Charity Jug and Dinner - The Results and Captain's Report with details of the amount raised for Prostate Cancer can be found on the Competition Results 2023 page. Well done to Adam Simons for winning with 46 points, who also now qualifies for entry to the 2024 Vets Masters competition.

Vets Friendly match away at The Darenth - the Results and Team Sheet can be found on the Friendly Results 2023 page, and the current Player Stats with all Team Sheets for all matches played can be found on the Friendly Results & Stats 2023 page. The Captain's Report is as follows:

We played The Darenth today in glorious sunshine and on a course which was in really good condition. Thoroughly enjoyable day with an excellent lunch after the golf. However on the downside I am afraid we lost 5.5 to 0.5 although 2 of the matches went to the last hole. Well done to Toby and Ross who secured the half point.

Vets League match home to Chislehurst - the Results and Team Sheet can be found on the Vets League Match Results 2023 page, and the updated League Table is shown on the Vets League home page. The Vets League Team Captain Doug Mason's report is as follows:

We are now 2nd in the table and still in with a chance of winning the league with 1 game remaining which is at home to West Kent in a fortnight.

To do that though we need to hope that Sundridge Pk do not win their remaining match at West Kent next week--if they do it will be all over as they will collect a bonus away win point making them uncatchable.I will let you know how that goes next week but "fingers crossed" West Kent do us a favour!!
