Vets News 4th July 2024

This week the Vets participated in three different events:

• 80's Cup, where all Octogenarians played for free, with the best over-80 winning a prize, as well as the best overall player winning the 80's Cup.

• Super Seniors League match away at Royal Blackheath.

• Vets Friendly match away at West Malling.

80's Cup - Well done to the overall winner Peter Brilliant who won the 80's Cup (photo shown below). The Captain provided a cake to celebrate the day which was decorated by the Captain's wife Carol Spratt - which is also shown below. Both photo's are on the website on the Home and 2024 Photo Gallery pages, with the Results and Captain's Report shown on the 2024 Competitions page. Congratulations also to Malcolm Lee who shot the best score for the Octogenarians and overs - 36 points!

Super Seniors League match away at Royal Blackheath - The results and Team Sheet from the match are shown on the Super Seniors League Results 2024 page.

Team Captain Richard Watson has provided a brief blog message which is copied below:

On a wet and blustery Wednesday we played our SS match against RBH.

To say we were all disappointed with the match results is an understatement!

We lost 6-0, even our reserves who were unbeaten lost. When you are given so many shots away on a home golf course it’s a struggle. I’m quickly learning about this game of golf and using the handicap to your advantage, but you pick the team that should do well and hope for the best.

We have 2 games left to play both in august, one at home the other away, we shall endeavour to win these both.
