Vets Captain's Awayday 23rd August

The Vets Captain held his annual awayday again at High Elms GC. The Captain has provided the following report on the day:

Veterans Captain’s Charity Away Day at High Elms Golf Club

23rd August.

Another lovely sunny day playing golf at a course not far from home. A field of 48 turned out  i.e. 12 Teams of 4 with the best 3 Stableford scores on each hole to count.

The Winning Team with 120 points were: Alan McSweeney; Phil Wroe; Steve Lawrence and Mike Powell.

In Second Place with 119 points were: Douglas Carr; Roger Farrington; Dennis Shipp and Geoff Coad.

In Third Place with 114 points were: Alan Jepson; Peter Ruggiero; Charles Donoghue  and Metin Oksuz.

The Nearest the Pin on Hole 5 was Martyn Heath.

The Nearest the Pin on Hole 8 was Stuart Hayward.

The Nearest the Pin on Hole 16 was Mike Powell.

The Longest Drive on Hole 12 was Jeff Wybourn.

The Best Individual score (excluding the winners from the first 3 teams) was Paul Burford with 37 points.

My thanks to all of you that took part for your support. I hope everyone enjoyed the day. My estimate is that my charity, Prostate Cancer UK, will benefit to the tune of about £140 thanks to your participation and generosity and Bromley Mytime who offered us a very reasonable price.
