Vets Friendly Vs Shirley Park
On Tuesday 12th September we played Shirley Park at home in a Friendly Match. The team had a great 5-1 victory.
The Results, and Team Sheet are on the website, and the Player Stats page has also been updated.
Captain Malcolm's Report on the match is as follows:
We played Shirley Park (on Tuesday 12th September) at home on a course that was excellent with superb greens and the pin positions in the same place as the Club Championship over the weekend. This definitely worked in our favour and we had a resounding win 5 – 1 and the only loss was only by a score of 1 Down.
Thoroughly enjoyable day with an excellent lunch after the golf and great company. Their players were very complimentary about the course, the food and the camaraderie during the matches and afterwards.
Thank you to everyone who played yesterday and to all the players who have supported me by turning out for the matches during the year.
Our final match away to Mid Kent is on Friday and we hope to finish on a high and avenge our 3.5 – 2.5 loss at home in June.
Kind Regards
Malcolm

Golf formats
In other news, we now have a series of Golf Formats on the website, which were copied (with permission) from The Darenth Seniors website. We may expand on these as and when details of different formats are presented to the web administrator. Some of these formats may be used for some of the Team-related competitions in the future. The Golf Formats link is available on the Vets Competitions page, under the General Links section.
Player Welfare
Lastly, there has been some calls from a few members about keeping tabs on some of the Vets Section members if they are unable to play regular golf. We are currently looking for a volunteer to act as an "Almoner", who can provide updated information to our members on those who, for whatever reason, cannot play golf for a period of time. The information could be as little as a sentence or two about a player who cannot attend competitions etc, which can be posted on the website for others to keep abreast of current news on friends. If you would like to act as an Almoner, please contact either the Captain Malcolm on malcolmhurst294@gmail.com, or the Web Administrator Martyn on martyn.heath@btinternet.com
