Vets Captain's Update 2nd September

Sep 5, 2022
2 min read

Fellow Vets

The dry and hot weather we have enjoyed in the past weeks seems to be coming to an end. The golf course is thankful for that even if no-one else is! It's remarkable how the fairways in particular have greened up so quickly after the recent wetter weather. The greens are in superb condition too, as good as they've ever been (in my opinion) since I joined the club.

Some good scores again in Tuesday's September medal competition, my match report can soon be found on the website once its been uploaded. (Link here -> https://martynheath.wixsite.com/vets/2022-medals )

No competition next week (Tues 6th), so just roll up if you fancy a social round but be mindful that the Vets Friendly match against West Malling will tee off at 08.38h (from the first and ninth), so please go out either before or after that.

The following week on Monday 12th September we are holding the Vets Team Invitation and I'm still looking for volunteers to host a team of 3 players from other clubs in our annual open charity event. Please do email me directly if you would like to play, there will be a fee for the f & b provision (breakfast snack and a two course lunch).

No competition either on Tuesday 13th but another home friendly match against Shirley Park SAVs. I'll be selecting the team shortly so please add your name via the availability tools on the website if you wish to be considered.

The invitation only Vets Masters follows the Tuesday after that. Enter only if you've been invited as a Vets competition winner from last year please.

Finally, please do remember to abide by the club's dress code - some guidance is given hereunder.

In and around the Clubhouse:

Members, their guests, and any visitors are expected to wear acceptable and respectable shoes, casual clothing (including clean, smart jeans) or recognised golf wear. However, T-shirts, beach clothes, non-tailored shorts are not acceptable. Caps, hats, and sliders can be worn on the patio area outside, sliders maybe worn to pass through the main bar. In the main bar and restaurant, golf shoes are not acceptable.

On the Course:

Members, their guests, and any visitors are expected to wear acceptable and respectable recognised golf wear. We accept golf fashion can change very quickly and we accept that any recognised golfing apparel that can be purchased from a professional golf retail outlet is acceptable.

Golf Shirts and tops that are designed to be worn in or outside the waistband may be worn as such, longer shirts need to be tucked in. Socks of any variety are fine, preferably white in colour. Blue denim jeans, T-shirts, beach clothes or non-tailored shorts are not acceptable. Trainers may be worn when caddying and by children aged 11 and under.

See you at the club soon.

Kind Regards

Keith
