This week the Vets were involved in a number of different events; on Monday we held the Vets Team Open competition, on Tuesday the Vets played a Friendly Match at home to West Malling, and on Thursday we held the Vets Past Captain's Trophy competition. Details of results follow....
Final Vets League Table
The updated table is now on the website to view - a very close end to the League, where we finished 3rd overall, but the margin of just 1.5 points separated the top 3 teams. Congratulations to Team Captain Doug Mason for keeping us in the mix right up until the very last game of the season!

The vets past captain's cup.
A very pleasant afternoon with just a short sharp shower at the very start which was followed by a dry warm pleasant 17 holes of golf. All bunkers were GUR however due to their being generally full of rainwater. Apart from that the course was in fine condition. Especially the greens.
This was a stableford competition played on the 61 course and traditionally followed by a dinner for past Vets captains.
This annual competition is organized by the immediate past captain who this year was Richard Spratt.
In view of the diminished number of past Vets captains available to participate this year all members of the vets committee were also invited to participate as guests as were, as usual, the current vets captain and his vice captain. Guests were not eligible to win the cup but we're able to win the competition.
The Winner was Paul Braithwaite with 36 points.
In 2nd place was Malcolm Hurst who was the highest scoring past captain and therefore wins the Cup for the second year running. Malcolm also qualifies for the Vets Masters in 2026.
In third place with 32 points was Martyn Heath.
The two course meal after the golf was very much enjoyed by all and our thanks were expressed to Matt and his kitchen staff and to Amy and her bar staff team.
Richard
