Friendlies & League Matches this week

This week the Vets and Super Seniors have been involved in 2 Friendly matches as well as Vets League and Super Seniors League matches.

• On Tuesday 18th June the Vets played a Friendly match at home to Mid Kent. We also played a Friendly match away to Redlibbets on Thursday 20th June. Both sets of Results and Team Sheets are on the website on the Friendly Results 2024 page, and the Team Sheets with current Player Stats are on the Results & Stats page.

• On Wednesday 19th June the Super Seniors hosted Addington Palace for the first League Match against each other. The Results and Team Sheet are on the Super Seniors Results 2024 page, and Team Captain Richard Watson has provided a brief statement on the performance of the team:

On a lovely day at Cherry Lodge we entertained the Palace - I was very hopeful of a good result knowing it would be close how more wrong could I be!

We lost 4-1 with our reserves getting a half and remain unbeaten.

The loosing of 3 of our games was to a score of 6/5 with the win again 6/5.

I’m hoping this was just the kick up the bum we needed!!

Onwards and upwards

From Team Captain Richard Watson

• Today - Thursday 20th June the Vets League team visited Chislehurst for an away League match, where we held Chislehurst to a 3 -3 draw. The Results and Team Sheet are now on the Vets League 2024 Results page. The acting Team Captain Dennis Shipp has provided a resume of the match:

A sunny day in Chislehurst.  A slightly changed Cherry Lodge team (caused by holidays and the quirkiness of their course with 8 par 3's) set forth. Chislehurst really favours the home team but we managed a very good 3-3 draw.  There was some outstanding scoring...mainly by them with one player playing 6 under handicap and another going round in a gross 2 over par, but three of our teams pairing convincingly beat their opponents and overall a good result.
