Final Vets Friendly Match 2023

19th September 2023

On Friday 15th September the Vets played their final Friendly Match of 2023 away at Mid Kent GC.

The Results with the Team Sheet are on the Friendly Results 2023 page.

The Final Player Stats and all Team Sheets for 2023 are now on the Friendly Results & Stats page.

The final match report from Captain Malcolm is produced below:

We played Mid Kent on 15th September at their place in our final match of the season. In glorious hot sunshine we found the course was challenging with very dry and hard fairways with not much grass which made fairway shots more difficult than we are used to. Their players apologised for the condition of the course which they have suffered with all year. The greens were tricky with an inconsistent pace.

After a strong start in the first 3 matches I am afraid that we lost all of the final 3 games which resulted in a loss of 3.5 to 2.5 so not the finish we were looking for.

However we had a thoroughly enjoyable day with an excellent lunch after the golf and great company. We are looking forward to seeing them again next year.

In total this year we had 50 members who represented the club in our friendly matches and a big thank you to them all for supporting me and playing in the matches during the year.

Kind Regards

Malcolm
