Captains Weekly Report
7th December 2022
Fellow Vets
As the season almost comes to a close, it was good to have great golfing weather for the traditional 12 Hole Christmas Stableford and Lunch yesterday. My competition report will be uploaded onto the website shortly here:
In the meantime, congratulations go to the winner Charles Donoghue with an outstanding 31 points! We all had a really enjoyable Christmas lunch afterwards with a raffle and auction following it. I managed to raise a further £370 for my charity, so many thanks to all of you who took part and donated prizes too.
Our final competition of the year - the postponed Vets v Ladies Trophy match is scheduled for next Tuesday 13th December. No lunch included but losers buy the drinks! They’ll be some prizes too for the highest scoring pairs. Booking is now closed. It will be played as 4BBB drawn pairs stableford matchplay over 12 holes. We have 26 Vets entries although the Ladies have struggled to match our number with 20 registered players. As we really don't want to disappoint anyone wishing to play, I have agreed with Suzanne that the last three Vets booked in will "guest" for the Ladies side as one pair and a singles match. I'll send out final details over the coming weekend. Let's hope the forecast snow doesn't appear!
Finally, please also make sure you have the Vets Annual General Meeting in your diary for next year on Tuesday 3rd January which will be preceded by our traditional AGM 12 hole Stableford competition (open for booking). I'll circulate an Agenda for our AGM f.y.i. in advance of that.
See you in the club house soon.
Kind Regards
Keith
