Captains Final Weekly Update
16th December 2022
Last weekend's snow and the subsequent freezing temperatures put paid to our last scheduled match of the year on Tuesday and any prospect of golf thereafter! We'll have to wait until next year to beat the Ladies again!
I think we'll be lucky to see the course open again before next week but temperatures are forecast to rise briefly then into balmy double figures, although accompanied by heavy rain too! On top of the thawed snow and frost, that'll make conditions tough going for sure! Good luck if you're itching to venture out again before Christmas, but probably no more golf for me now until the New Year!
The Vets AGM will follow our traditional 12 Hole AGM Stableford on Tuesday 3rd January for which there are already 50+ entries, but still plenty of room for more.
I've attached an Agenda for our AGM which I'll try to get underway by 2.30pm at the latest, provided all have finished their rounds of course! I hope to see many of you there.
The Agenda (& the last minutes & officer's nomination forms) will also be available on the website shortly here:
The Committee have proposed that Vets Competition Entrance Fees remain at £3 for the forthcoming year. Under the Vets Rules this must be an AGM Agenda item and be voted upon by the membership. This will be conducted by a show of hands at the AGM unless you are unable to attend. Only if this is the case, then your Committee have agreed that you may vote via email to me as your proxy. If you wish to do so then please simply respond to this email either FOR or AGAINST the Agenda Item #11.
Finally, it just remains for me to thank you for your support all season and to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Kind Regards
Keith
